Which data do we process?
We only process the data we need. In most cases, you provide it to us yourself, for example through a form on this website:
- Donating: name, email address, phone number (optional), address, the amount and, for a regular gift, your IBAN.
- Contact and registrations: name, email address, phone number (optional) and what you write to us. This applies to the contact form and to the forms for fundraisers, schools, businesses and volunteers. Your message is sent to the foundation by email and is not stored in a database.
- Newsletter: your email address.
- Your own fundraising page: your name, your story and photo and, for donations to your fundraiser, the donor’s name and message if they choose to share them.
- Visiting this website: technical data needed to show you the website, such as your IP address.
Why do we process your data?
- To process your donation and thank you for it.
- To answer your question or contact you about your registration.
- To send you the newsletter, only if you have signed up for it.
- To show you this website and keep it working properly and securely.
- To comply with legal obligations, such as the statutory duty to keep tax records.
We do not use your data for any other purpose and we never sell it to anyone.
How long do we keep your data?
- Donations: seven years, because the law requires this for our accounts.
- Messages and registrations: as long as needed to help you, and after that for no more than two years.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. You can do so at any time using the link at the bottom of every newsletter.
Who do we share your data with?
We only share your data with providers that help us make our website and our work possible. We have made agreements with them about protecting your data. They are:
- Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ireland): processes donation payments.
- Brevo (France): sends our newsletter. After you sign up, you first receive an email with a link to confirm your subscription. Only then do we send you the newsletter.
- TransIP (the Netherlands): provides our domain name and our email, including the messages you send us through a form on this website.
- Vercel (hosting): delivers this website through a worldwide network of servers. This means that data such as your IP address may also be processed outside the European Economic Area (EEA). A data processing agreement with the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses applies to Vercel.
We do not share your data with anyone else, unless the law requires us to.
Security
We take appropriate measures to protect your data against loss and misuse. Only people who need your data for their work at the foundation have access to it.
Photos and stories of children
We only share stories and photos of children from our programmes with the permission of their parents or carers. Would you like a photo to be removed? Please get in touch with us.
Cookies
This website only uses cookies that are needed for the website to work properly. We do not place cookies to track you or to show you adverts, and we do not use cookies for statistics. If we start using cookies to measure visits in the future, we will tell you here and, where necessary, ask for your consent first.
YouTube videos only load when you click on them. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) for this. As soon as you click on a video, YouTube (Google) receives data such as your IP address and may use cookies or similar technologies. Google’s privacy policy applies to this.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data and to have it corrected or deleted. You can also object to the use of your data, withdraw your consent or ask us to transfer your data. Send your request to stichting@motas.nl. We will respond within one month.
Are you unhappy with how we handle your data? Please let us know. You can also lodge a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
