MOTAS for Kids Foundation
The social heart
The foundation supports children in disadvantaged circumstances with their education and personal development, together with local schools, parents and communities. We currently work in Cañete, Peru.
This is how we are organised and how we work together, in the Netherlands and in Peru.
MOTAS is our umbrella name. It covers two organisations, each with its own role and its own responsibility.

The enterprising side
MOTAS forms the basis for a strong social business model: combining an attractive product with a social mission. We are building it step by step, without rushing.
Together they work towards one goal: a good start for every child.
Transparency matters to us. Here you can read what happens with your contribution.
Because you entrust your money to the MOTAS for Kids Foundation, we want to be as open as possible about what happens with your gift. As a young foundation, we are expanding that transparency step by step.
MOTAS and the MOTAS for Kids Foundation pursue the same mission, but are organised separately. The foundation has an independent board. Your donation goes to the foundation and is kept separate from MOTAS.
Your donation goes to our work in Peru. In Cañete, where we currently work, we collaborate closely with local teams and contacts. Together with them we carry out the projects, within our education programme and reconstruction programme.
To do good work, a foundation also has costs: for running the organisation and for recruiting donors. MOTAS already covers part of those costs, which keeps the foundation's running costs lower. In our annual report we show how the money has been spent.
We are working towards ANBI status, the Dutch recognition for public benefit organisations. To get there, we are putting in place what the Dutch Tax Administration (Belastingdienst) asks of charities, such as a public policy plan and financial accountability. As soon as we have it, we will let you know here.

Donate nowMOTAS is our umbrella name and the enterprising side that we are building step by step. The MOTAS for Kids Foundation is the foundation that carries out the work in Peru. Both pursue the same mission, but the foundation has an independent board and donations go only to the foundation.
Yes. On the donation page you choose whether to give once or monthly. A regular gift helps us plan ahead and support schools for longer.
Not yet. We are working towards ANBI status. Once we have it, taxpayers in the Netherlands will be able to deduct their gift under certain conditions. We will let you know on this page.
A regular donation supports our work in general. Sometimes we organise a fundraiser for a specific project. If you donate through such a fundraiser, your gift goes to that project.
We work on that from the very start. We choose improvements together with the schools and the community, so that they take ownership themselves. Our aim is long-term involvement, not one-off help.
We stay in close contact with our local teams and the schools and monitor the progress of every project. The board provides oversight, and in our annual report we show how the money has been spent.
Certainly. Companies can become impact partners and schools can set up a fundraiser with us. Take a look at Get involved for the options.

The foundation's objective is to support children in disadvantaged circumstances in their education and personal development, with a stable and stimulating learning environment. We currently work in Cañete, Peru.
A separate legal form for social enterprises does not (yet) exist in the Netherlands. That is why MOTAS consists of a foundation and an enterprising branch. Donations go only to the foundation. MOTAS already covers part of the running costs, so that the foundation can keep them as low as possible.
The foundation's board members receive no remuneration for their board duties. Expenses incurred may be reimbursed.
Based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
