How we make an impact

Making an impact does not start with money or materials, but with listening. From that first step, we keep working together with the community.

  1. Listening

    We always start with conversations with head teachers, teachers, parents and children. They know best what is needed.

  2. Planning together

    Together we choose what is most needed and what is achievable. That way the plan remains the community's own.

  3. Delivering

    Step by step, within our education programme and reconstruction programme. Better small and done well than big and unfinished.

  4. Monitoring and learning

    We stay in touch with the schools and look together at whether it works. What we learn, we take into the next step.

  5. Staying

    Not a one-off gift, but long-term involvement. That way trust grows, and the impact grows with it.

Behind every number is a child

Children with their own dreams, talents and ideas. Children who want to learn, play and discover what they can do, just like any other child.

That is why we want to show our impact not just in numbers, but above all in their stories: a classroom with new materials, a teacher who takes on new ideas, a schoolyard where children play.

Impact close to home

Run for Kids: running for a good start

For our marathon fundraiser, four enthusiastic participants put on the Run for Kids shirt, including our chair. Together they ran the National Park Marathon and raised money for children in Cañete.
